MEMPHIS – Last week at the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) annual convention it was announced that FedExForum was named a finalist in IAVM’s Venue Excellence Award category for arenas. FedExForum was one of three finalists for the prestigious award.

FedExForum accompanied Staples Center (Los Angeles) and the Sydney Entertainment Centre (Sydney, Australia) as finalists for the “Venue Excellence Award—Arenas” category. The facilities were judged on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, sales and marketing, sustainability, financial integrity, professional development, safety and security and service to the community.

Highlighted in this year’s application was FedExForum and Memphis Grizzlies’ staff-created “FansFirst.” This program empowers the employees to make the correct and necessary decisions to service its customers and put their needs first. It also encourages employees to promote teamwork through competition, team service and community programs, incentives and service awards.

“We are very honored to have been chosen as a finalist for this award. To be recognized by our peers in the industry is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence by our staff and all of our vendor partners,” said Eric Granger, Vice President of Arena Operations. “Every day we strive to make FedExForum the cultural front porch for the Mid-South.”

The International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) is an organization committed to the professional operation of convention centers, stadiums, arenas, and performing arts centers. The Venue Excellence Award was created to annually recognize each of the four IAVM venue types which demonstrate excellence in the management and operation of public assembly venues.
