Memphis, Tenn. – For the fourth consecutive year, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will buck into Memphis, coming to FedExForum on Feb. 18, 2023, with the PBR: Bluff City Classic. For one night only, some of the best bull riders in the world will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in one of the most exciting live sporting events to witness.

Tickets for the PBR: Bluff City Classic go on sale to the general public on Friday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at ticketmaster.com or the FedExForum Box Office. The exclusive presale for current Memphis Grizzlies’ MVP Season Ticket Members, recipients of FedExForum Event Alert e-mails and subscribers of Grizzlies e-News starts today, Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. and runs through Thursday, Oct. 6 at 11:59 p.m.

During the 2023 season, the PBR will celebrate its 30th anniversary since 20 cowboys broke away from the traditional rodeo with the belief that bull riding could be a standalone sport. Since their trailblazing initiative, the PBR has grown into a global phenomenon awarding nearly $300 million in prize money. Event goers in Memphis will be on the edge of their seats as riders vie for crucial points on the line in the race to be crowned the 2023 PBR Velocity Tour Champion. In early 2022 when the PWVT visited Memphis there was no rider more dominant than Boudreaux Campbell (Crockett, Texas). Sweeping both rounds of competition inside the home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, Campbell won the PBR: Bluff City Classic. As the night began, Campbell seized the opportunity inside FedExForum and was off to a hot start, winning Round 1 via an 87-point ride. His momentum continued in the championship round as he readied to attempt Hollywood as the last man out. Matching the animal athlete jump-for-jump, Campbell reached the requisite 8 for an event-best 89.5 points. The flawless finish earned Campbell a crucial 44 world points, propelling him 26 positions up the world standings from No. 53 to No. 27.

On Saturday evening, 40 competing riders hoping to climb the world standings just like Campbell will attempt one bull each in Round 1. Following the opening round, the Top 10 will then advance to the championship round where they will attempt one final bull, all in an effort to be crowned the event champion.
